Crystal Symphony is a cruise ship operating globally.
Before using Nippon Paint Marine the ship had significant fouling issues.
After two dry-dockings with Nippon Paint Marine’s LF-Sea series, the ship remained perfectly clean on arrival in dry dock.
The Challenges
Crystal Cruises needed reliable antifouling paint. They had tried silicone and found that it fouled in service. Silicone was also difficult to apply in dock.
The Results
The results after two dockings with Nippon Paint Marine were that the ship and the owner operated as predicted. The ship arrived in dry dock both times extremely clean and with only high pressure washing needed on most of the hull. Crystal Cruise found that the power needed to make a certain speed was lower than their previous antifouling paint.
